Decorating after Christmas...Silver and White

I don't know about you, but after Christmas when I put the tree away and pack all the boxes of decor in the crawlspace I feel empty. I miss all the warmth and glitter of the holiday decorations. Who says you can't decorate again after Christmas. I always have my "Winter" decor that stays up from Christmas until spring time. It includes snowflakes, crystal, white sparkles, and silver pieces. I still get the warmth and glitter of the Winter but with sparkle and shine!
Here are some beautiful examples of Silver and White you can decorate with all winter long:

Decorating in Black & White

I'm an advocate of always having a piece (or 10) of black in every room, either small like a frame or large like a mirror. With that in mind, a trend that is one of my favorites is black and white pieces. I love how dramatic it can be! It can be a focal point or a unexpected little surprise. A little surprise it always fun in decorating, but it should be a piece you love. Just keep in mind not to use them all together in one room, or too match-y. It would be too overwhelming.

Here are some examples of really fun black and white pieces I love:

I'm not sure why but they choose a color for the year and for 2010 it's turquoise. Now, turquoise if not my favorite color, or even in my top 20 but I did find some beautiful things that can bring this HOT color into any decor. Here are some examples of how a little bit of the color can make a big impact.

Inspired from Paris Beauty

As I was ready my daughter a book at bedtime tonight, we were talking about foods that were invented in other countries and those invented in US. It was harder to name several ones from US, but I was brought back to my trip to France a year ago. I went on a short-term mission trip to teach English as a foreign language to the French people. It was the most memorable trip of my life.
I know that I will be posting many pictures of France on this blog, as it still memorizes me to look at the 500+ pictures I took.
Here are a few examples of the beauty that inspired me....
I realize the images I saw reflect in how I look at nature, food, art, and things around me. The beauty is everywhere! Enjoy it.

Organizing Pictures With Style

One of my goals this year is to organize, organize, organize! One of the first projects I'm working on it to organize our family pictures. Since we have three kids, that includes a lot of pictures! Not only do these include the photos we take with our camera, but also the artwork they do at school.
Here are a few great ideas for displaying these photos and artwork.

Happy New Year

Welcome to my new blog! I'm a little bit anxious and very excited about this new adventure for me. I have been following several blogs for the past year, including my sisters' and thought it would be fun. I hope to show my projects I'm working on, inspirational pictures and other fun things I think are cool. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks for stopping by! Come back often.
